Momentum Impact Investments
Not only does Momentum enable donors to give to causes they care about, we are doing our part too. Thanks to a $10 million loan from WEL Energy Trust gifted on our establishment, we have generated our own fund which we use to make impact investments. Any investments made by us must be aligned with our priorities, and meet our 'impact' test:
We are pleased to announce that we are already underway with two investments into business cases for amenities in Whangamatā. These are:
101 Lindsay Road - Feasibility Study
Our investment was made in September 2022 so that the business case required by TCDC could be prepared and submitted before the advised deadline (30 December 2023). Our funds have been supported by funds from the Eastern Coromandel Community Services Trust, the Whangamatā Community Marae Trust, TCDC and Trust Waikato.
Feasibility Study for Wharekawa Lodge
We have provided the seed capital required for the Wharekawa Adventure Education Trust to audit its site and the market, so that informed decisions can be made on future investment opportunities. This investment aligns with one of our key priority areas (Youth/Rangatahi).
